Flexby is an EU funded project with the overall objective to significantly advance the development of cost-effective solutions to minimise carbon waste and inhibit biogenic effluent gas emissions in sustainable biofuel production processes.

The Flexby project will develop several innovative concepts to advance the technology level of advanced biofuel production such as new processes for microalgae cultivation, microwave fast / flash pyrolysis, hydrogen-free hydrodeoxygenation, and pyrogas processing for bio-hydrogen production.

Flexby brings together a diverse range of experts from one large enterprise, four SMEs, two universities, two research and technology organisations, and one non-profit association from five different countries. The collaboration between the diverse range of expertise within the Flexby consortium will lead to significant strides being made in increasing the use of advanced biofuels in the heavy transport sector.

One objective of Flexby is to collaborate with relevant projects and European initiatives to share knowledge and maximise the impact of all parties.

This task in the project is led by CO2 Value Europe, a non-profit association representing the Carbon Capture and Utilisation community in Europe. The Association cultivates an extensive network of organisations and individuals who collectively endorse the vision that Carbon Capture and Utilisation (CCU) technologies are essential for the European Union to achieve its climate objectives.
